Jordan Brand reissues a basketball underdog with the return of the Air Jordan 1 KO Low. Dropping alongside the main Air Jordan line back in the ‘80s, the KO was a cheaper alternative to the $64.99 Air Jordan 1 thanks to its canvas upper. First retro-ing in 2010 and 2016, this “Kentucky” release will be warmly welcomed by collectors of ‘80s basketball silhouettes out there, of which the numbers are rapidly growing.Although we did receive a AJ KO 1 High “Storm Blue” in 2021 and “Royal” in 2014, it’s been decades since we’ve seen the “Kentucky” colourway. The leaked images reveal the AJKO 1 in its traditional canvas tooling, with the University of Kentucky colourway dressing up the simple panelling. On the heel sits the KO iteration of the Wings insignia, embroidered in a grey thread. The tooling sits atop an off-white midsole, making the archival connection more obvious with its use of vintage hues.
